Today, you will take a shore excursion to the Three Gorges Dam. It will allow you to see the largest and the most complicated hydropower project worldwide. It was designed and built for the benefit of navigation, flood control, river shipping and tourism.
In the late afternoon, the ship will sail through the west section of Xiling Gorge. It is the longest gorges on the Yangtze River, famous for its zigzag channel, strange rocks, beaches with rapid water, and so on.

You will take a side excursion on smaller boats to the Lesser Three Gorges or Shennong Stream or Goddess Stream in the morning. Lesser Three Gorges scenic area consists of colorful mountains and peaks, clean waterfalls, mysterious cliffs, ancient caves, and a variety of water birds flying. The unique gorge scenery, natural landscape and cultural sites make this place a popular attraction.
The cruise will continue sailing through the Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge. Qutang Gorge is only 8 kilometers but is famous for its magnificence. While Wu Gorge is 45 kilometers long, known for its deep and serene scenes. You will see the zigzags, weird peaks, and rising mists when passing through the gorge.

Today, you will take a shore excursion to the Shibaozhai Pagoda or Fengdu. Only one is included according to different cruise line arrangements.
Shibaozhai Pagoda is a 400-year-old temple built partway into the cliff. It is one of the few remaining wooden structures in China and has been called "one of the eight strangest buildings in the world."
Fengdu Ghost City is said to be the place where people's souls go after they die. As one of the most popular sites for the Yangtze River Cruise, it is the only place to show others the Chinese culture of the afterlife. This area gathers the cultures and customs of Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism.
