• Morning: Arrival in the Clouds: Take an early morning flight from Chengdu to Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport (JZH), one of the highest airports in China. Your private English-speaking guide and driver will be waiting at the arrival hall to whisk you away to the nearby Huanglong Valley.

• Afternoon: The Travertine Marvels of Huanglong: After a local lunch to fuel up, we explore the Huanglong Scenic Area, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Often described as a "Golden Dragon" resting among alpine forests, this 3.6-kilometer valley is famous for its brilliant travertine terraces. To maximize your comfort at high altitude, we will take the cable car to the top. From there, you'll witness the crowning jewel: the Five-Color Ponds. This cluster of 693 shimmering, turquoise pools sits beneath the majestic, snow-clad Xuebao Peak. Huanglong's highest point is approximately 3,500 meters (11,483 ft). We have specifically arranged the cable car up and walking down route to save your energy and help you acclimatize. We recommend moving slowly, staying hydrated, and avoiding alcohol on this first day. If you feel any altitude discomfort, your guide can assist with oxygen canisters which are readily available throughout the park.

Today is dedicated to the Jiuzhaigou Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a biosphere reserve. Often called a "Fairyland on Earth," it is famous for its surreal blue lakes, multi-tiered waterfalls, and lush primeval forests.

• Full Day: A Symphony of Water and Light: After breakfast, we spend a full day exploring the three main branches of the Y-shaped valley: Rize, Zechawa, and Shuzheng.

  • Rize Valley: Known as the "Essence of Jiuzhaigou," you'll visit the mesmerizing Five-Flower Lake, where the water's color shifts from emerald to turquoise, and the Pearl Shoal Waterfall, a dramatic 300-meter-wide curtain of water.

  • Zechawa Valley: We travel to the highest point to see the Long Lake, the largest and deepest lake in the park, and the jewel-like Five-Color Pond, famous for its crystal-clear waters that never freeze.

  • Shuzheng Valley: We conclude with the majestic Nuorilang Waterfall and the Shuzheng Lakes, where a string of 19 emerald pools cascades down the valley like a jade necklace.

To beat the large tour groups, we recommend an 8:00 AM entry. Your private guide knows the best timing for each valley to capture the optimal lighting for photography. While there are eco-buses throughout the park, we have planned several short boardwalk walks to ensure you get away from the bus stops and truly experience the tranquility of the primeval forests and hidden springs.

Your journey through the emerald waters and golden peaks of Sichuan concludes today with a smooth transfer back to the Sichuan capital.

• Morning: A Final Morning in the Mountains: Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel, breathing in the crisp, mountain air for one last time. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time for a final stroll through the local Jiuzhaigou markets to pick up unique Tibetan handicrafts or local herbal specialties.

• Transfer to Airport: Your private guide and driver will meet you at the designated time for the 2-hour drive back to Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport (JZH). We ensure you arrive well in advance for your flight, assisting with your luggage and the check-in process.

• Arrival in Chengdu: Upon landing in Chengdu, you can connect to your international flight home or continue your China adventure. Our service concludes here, but the memories of the "Fairy World" will last a lifetime.
