Itinerary

Day 1: Full Day in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park: The Real-Life Pandora

Morning: Ascending to the Floating Peaks Your journey begins with a private pick-up (07:00–08:00 AM). While we serve both downtown and Wulingyuan, we recommend staying near the East Gate (Wulingyuan) to maximize your time in the mountains.

  • Bailong Elevator (World's Tallest Outdoor Lift): Skip the long hike and ascend the cliffside in just 88 seconds. This Guinness World Record-holding engineering marvel offers a breathtaking "shuttle through the clouds" experience.

  • Yuanjiajie Scenic Area (Avatar Hallelujah Mountain): Step into the world of Pandora. Witness the Hallelujah Mountain (formerly Qiankun Pillar), the 200-meter-high sandstone peak that inspired the floating mountains in the movie Avatar.

  • Classic Landmarks: Traverse the "No. 1 Natural Bridge under Heaven" and stand on the Enchanting Platform for the most iconic panoramic views of the quartz-sandstone peak forest.

Lunch: Pro-Tip for Travelers To ensure the best experience, we recommend having a hearty breakfast and packing snacks. Dining inside the park can be overpriced, and the local "Hunan style" (spicy and oily) may not suit everyone.

  • Quick Option: There is a McDonald's on Tianzi Mountain if you need a familiar energy boost.

Afternoon: Hidden Valleys & The Stone Great Wall Board the park's eco-bus to explore the less-crowded northern reaches.

  • Yangjiajie & The Natural Great Wall: Discover the legendary land of the Yang family generals. Witness the "Natural Great Wall"—a stunning geological discovery where dozens of peak walls stand parallel like a fortified stone barrier.

  • Tianzi Mountain (The Monarch of Peaks): As sunset approaches, watch the "Sea of Clouds" turn crimson. From the Helong Park observation deck, marvel at the Imperial Brush Peak and Fairy Dispersing Flowers—formations steeped in Tujia ethnic folklore.

Evening: Scenic Descent Cap off your adventure with a panoramic Tianzi Mountain Cable Car ride down the mountain, offering a final bird's-eye view of the sandstone spires before we transfer you back to your hotel.

  • Meals: Breakfast (at hotel)

  • Highlights: Bailong Elevator, Hallelujah Mountain, Yangjiajie, Tianzi Mountain Cable Car.

Day 2: Heights & Horizons – Glass Bridge & Tianmen Mountain

Morning: Walking on Air at Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon After a 40-minute scenic drive, we reach the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, home to the world's highest and longest transparent Glass Bridge.

  • The Thrill of a Lifetime: Dare to walk across this architectural marvel suspended 300 meters above the canyon floor. For those less adventurous, opaque paths are available on either side.

  • Abyssal Views: Enjoy a breathtaking perspective of the lush abyss beneath your feet.

  • Note: To ensure our small group stays on schedule, optional activities like ziplining, bungee jumping, and lake cruises are not included in the standard itinerary.

Afternoon: Tianmen Mountain – The Soul of Zhangjiajie Next, we head to Tianmen Mountain, the highest peak in the region, known for its sheer cliffs and spiritual significance. We have designed a low-strenuous route to maximize your comfort:

  • The Transmountain Escalator: Skip the exhausting 999-step "Stairway to Heaven." We arrange multi-level escalators to take you effortlessly between the summit, Tianmen Cave (Heaven's Gate), and the mountain square.

  • Heaven's Gate: Marvel at this giant natural karst arch, a site famous for ancient myths and modern wingsuit flying stunts.

  • Cliff-Hanging Glass Skywalk: Test your courage on the transparent skywalk bolted to the vertical cliffs (shoe covers provided).

  • The 99-Bend Road: Experience the famous "Heaven-Linking Avenue" via a scenic shuttle bus. With 99 sharp turns overlooking bottomless canyons, it's a heart-racing "roller coaster" ride on solid ground.

  • World's Longest Cableway: Depending on the route, you'll enjoy a spectacular cable car ride offering a bird's-eye view of the city and the rugged peaks.

Evening: Farewell Dinner & Departure As your 2-day Zhangjiajie adventure concludes, we will escort you back to your hotel or transit point.

Dinner Recommendation: Mr. Tang · Western Hunan Cuisine For your final night, we highly recommend this 30-year-old institution in Wulingyuan.

  • The Vibe: Authentic wooden décor with a clean, inviting atmosphere.

  • The Taste: Famous for innovating traditional Hunan recipes while maintaining local heritage.

  • Budget: Approx. USD 11 per person. (No. 463, Wuling Road, Wulingyuan).

  • Meals: Breakfast

  • Highlights: Glass Bridge, Tianmen Cave, 99-Bend Road, Glass Skywalk.
